Happy Hallowe'en!

I love Hallowe'en, but HELP!

I've only had six kids, and one was a baby dressed as Superman. Someone come and get some candy!

Since I can't go out tonight (residual back bleh), the only scary things I see are:

Skeleton as utility closet light cord.
What's up with that?

Random carving on my wall:

Blessed Be.

We only had two trick or treaters tonight!! I live in England - they don't really 'do' Halloween right (Born & raised in Michigan though!). Last year, we had loads of kids and ran out of candy, this year we stocked up - and got only two.

There goes my blasted diet! :o)

Greetings. You know we LOVE hallowe'en over here, but it is so unpredictable. Last year I was swamped. This year? I will be ruining diets at work!

Maybe you could champion a Hallowe'en movememnt in the UK!

I got a better idea. Since they don't have REAL Hershey's here, nor do they have NERDS (god I miss those), we should swap candy! I can send you my stash, you can send me yours. Either way, diets will be ruined.

:o)

The houses in our rural subdivision are so far apart, we hardly ever get trick-or-treaters. Kids in our 'hood have their parents drive them to a very long street near the front of the community where the houses are close enough to navigate. Those people must give out tons of candy.

This year I just didn't buy any because I always wind up eating it. I will admit though I wouldn't mind biting into a "fun" size Snickers about now.

There is this place near where I live called Cannon Hall - a big old beautiful country home, they have a Farm Shop aptly named Cannon Hall Farm Shop www.cannonhallfarm.co.uk , they used to sell Hershey Bars, but not any more. They also sometimes have Skippy Peanut Butter (british peanut butter is crap!!). I'm sure the locals think I'm a nutter, for when I see Skippy or a bottle of Hershey's Syrup I actually scream with excitement. Sad really. They do now sell Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in some stores here, but not many. They don't have the big ones though, I love those things. OMG... I sound as if I am obsessed with food. You really don't know what you'll miss until you don't have it any more.

I almost miss some food things as much as I miss my Mommy.....almost.

San -

Since you houses are so far apart, maybe you should have a big central candy excahnge by a bon fire. Bahah!

Hardly any Skippy???? Sounds dire. Methinks we must create a care package for you! :-)

LOri - PLEASE take some candy! I think you should have hayrides! There is this very cool farm down here that started out doing hayrides to increase income. Now it is this HUGE thing with haunted hayfields, ghouls and hot chocolate and cider. Yum.

i stopped buying candy a few years ago because i'm in a dead end street (i think that's part of the problem) and by the time i get home, they've stopped coming around. my friend (who has kids) once told me that she and her kids go visit houses that are "halloween friendly" only...those that have been made up for hallow's eve. and, since i don't really do that, perhaps i am seen as the "unfriendly" witch? :(
