Second Snow

2nd Snow of 2009, Malvern, PA
December 19, 2009

Eeesh! Best laid plans and all that.

I planned to take my Dad shopping, but the snow fell and fell and fell, so I watched it fall instead. I would like to say that the snow turned out to be an ill-timed but welcome respite from the rush-gush-rush of the Christmas season, but the truth is that I have not felt all that rushed. Other concerns have crowded in: work, finals, economic concerns, artistic exercises, political snits, blah, blah, blah ... Christmas is creeping up on the radar in that slow, steady way that big events travel. You know: far away, far away, far off, still a-ways, RIGHT THERE (!) in all its panic-inducing glory.

For now, I will just watch the snow fall; let the random, inescapable carol float in; admire the lights and decorations of the committed; and anticipate that moment when Christmas seeps in to fill my heart with golden light.

It always does, and it's always right on time.

Fe...great shot. How much snow did you get and did you ever make it to the grocery store. Yes, it won't be long now, until Christmas Eve. Artistic exercises? Are you still taking art classes? Hope all is well and you did not get hurt when you fell. Got to see a picture of you on face book at another Felicia's graduation.

Ack! The plows are out as I write this. It looks to be almost a foot. I'll have to measure later. Did you get dumped on? No, I never made it to the grocery store, but I am not in dire need of anything. Thank God, as I would rather watch it than drive in it! mE? fALL? wHA -? (KLUNK) Ah, that was my great-niece's graduation, and I hope I removed all the evidence!

Living in Utah, the snow is not a novelty so it's kind of fun to read what people write about this storm. Good luck navigating all the slop as it melts!

Mountain Mama!
Too funny! No worries about the post. And we so rarely get significant snow in the valley that we are just in awe. Then we play (or nest). Then we dig out whilst grumbling! Happy/Merry!

Thank you, Spartacus Jones!

Hugely beautiful night shot of glowing snow against shadowy branches ... Awesomely artistic and moody composition! (As well as lovely weather!)

Country - Thank you! It was lovely (she who had the option to stay in said)! I thought I would capture snow on the branches, but it was such fine powder that the wind had its way. Also, glad it was powder when I had to dig my car out!

Beautiful photo, and just right to illustrate the golden light that I hope will come. Happy Christmas to you and your loved ones.

Oh Janie! I think the golden light has arrived. Still have too much shopping to do, but I think I'll delegate a piece of joy! Wishing you light, luck and love this season!
